What I do
Small jobs are welcome. A lot of sparkies won't take a single powerpoint or a light changeover — I will, and I'll price it fairly.
Dead circuits, tripping safety switches, powerpoints that stopped working. Tracked down properly rather than guessed at, so it doesn't come back next month.
Old fuse boards brought up to current standards. If your board still has rewireable ceramic fuses, one fault takes out the whole house and there's no safety switch protecting anyone.
Extra outlets where you actually need them, LED changeovers, ceiling fans, outdoor and sensor lighting. The jobs that are too small for the bigger outfits.
Dedicated supply for split systems, and an honest answer upfront on whether your board can carry another unit — not halfway through the install.
Power out to sheds, pumps and tanks. Plenty of blocks around Walkers Point and Granville need a run done properly rather than an extension lead across the yard.
Partial or full rewires, staged around your build so you're not waiting on a sparky to unlock the next trade.
The difference
Most sparkies work Monday to Friday, which means taking a day off work to let one in. I'm on the tools six days a week, so a Saturday job is a normal job — not an after-hours callout with a premium attached.
Why people ring back
Same bloke quotes it, does it and answers the phone afterwards. Nothing gets lost between an office and a van.
You know the number before the tools come out, and it doesn't move unless we find something and I tell you first.
